AN ACT RELATIVE TO APPROPRIATIONS BY THE TOWN OF ORLEANS FOR MUNICIPAL ADVERTISING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
Chapter 2 of the acts of 1961 is hereby amended by striking out section 2,
as amended by chapter 71 of the acts of 1976, and inserting in place
thereof the following section:-
Section 2. The town of Orleans may appropriate annually a sum not
exceeding ten thousand dollars for the purpose of advertising and promoting
the advantages of said town, and for the erection and maintenance of
information booths therein; provided, however, that a sum at least equal to
the amount of such appropriation shall be contributed by public
subscription or by donation or legacy, and paid into the town treasury to
be expended, in addition to the sums appropriated for the aforesaid
purposes. The money so appropriated and so contributed shall be expended
under the direction of the board of selectmen.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
