AN ACT AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STATE OFFICE BUILDINGS TO INSTALL AND MAINTAIN A PLAQUE IN HONOR OF LIEUTENANT FRANCES Y. SLANGER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
The superintendent of state office buildings is hereby authorized and
directed, subject to approval of the art commission as to size and content,
to install and maintain a plaque in a suitable space in the Nurses Hall in
the state house in honor of Lieutenant Frances Y. Slanger, the first
American nurse to be killed by enemy action in the European theatre during
World War II.
