Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter thirty-two B of the General Laws or of any other general or special law or rule to the contrary, any person who was appointed a call firefighter in the town of Kingston prior to January first, nineteen hundred and eighty-five shall be deemed an "employee" as defined in section two of said chapter thirty-two B for the purposes of said chapter thirty-two B and the spouse of each such call firefighter shall be deemed a "dependent" as so defined in said chapter thirty-two B; provided, however, that when any such person ceases to perform the duties of such position of call firefighter, such person and spouse shall be deemed eligible to continue such group general or blanket insurance as a retired employee and his dependent in accordance with the provisions of said chapter thirty-two B.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
