AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF NEWTON TO LEASE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND TO SELL THE BUILDINGS THEREON.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter thirty B of
the General Laws but pursuant to a competitive process resulting in an
award to a developer in August, nineteen hundred and eighty-nine and
reported to the Office of the
Inspector General prior to May first, nineteen hundred and ninety the city
of Newton is hereby
authorized to lease a certain parcel of land located in said city, presently
being used for school and recreational purposes, and to sell the buildings
thereon. Said parcel is bounded and described as follows:-
Beginning at a point on the south side of Washington Street about 315'
southwesterly of Myrtle Street, West Newton;
thence running in a straight line about 320' southeasterly;
thence turning southwesterly and running in a straight line about 310';
thence turning southeasterly to run in a straight line about 85';
thence turning and running in a straight line for about 170' southwesterly;
thence running a distance of about 120' northwesterly in a straight line;
thence turning and running a distance of about 30' northeasterly in a straight line;
thence turning and running in a straight line northwesterly about 270' to
and thence running along Washington Street in a curving line northeasterly
about 460' to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
