Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
SECTION 1. Section 4-2 of the charter of the town of Easton, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
(q) He shall advertise all vacancies on town boards and committees in a newspaper of general circulation and shall actively recruit candidates for all appointments to be made by himself, the board of selectmen, or the moderator.
SECTION 2. The third paragraph of section 7-11 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out subparagraph (a) and inserting in place thereof the following subparagraph:-
(a) A written notice of the intent to remove and a statement of the cause or causes therefore shall be delivered by certified mail or service of process by constable or deputy sheriff in hand or by leaving at the last and usual place of abode and by mailing first class mail, postage prepaid, to the last known address of the person sought to be removed.
