AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS' SERVICES TO PAY A CERTAIN SUM OF MONEY TO THE TOWN OF WEST SPRINGFIELD FOR CERTAIN VETERANS' BENEFITS PAID BY SAID TOWN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
There shall be allowed and paid out of the state treasury to the town of
West Springfield, subject to appropriation and subject to the approval of the
commissioner of veterans' services a sum, not exceeding ninety thousand four
hundred thirty dollars and eighty-one cents, as reimbursement, under the
provisions of section six of chapter one hundred and fifteen of the General
Laws for veterans' benefits paid by said town from June, nineteen hundred and
eighty-six through September, nineteen hundred and eighty-nine. Said
reimbursement not being made because of a failure of said town to make a proper
and seasonable report thereof to said commissioner. As a condition of payment
said commissioner shall require the town of West Springfield to present
evidence that the said sum was paid in compliance with the provisions of
section five of chapter one hundred and fifteen of the General Laws.
