AN ACT RELATIVE TO COLLEGE CREDIT FOR COURSES IN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
Chapter 15A of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after
section 9 the following section:-
Section 9A. American Sign Language is hereby recognized as a full and
legitimate language, as the language of a unique culture in the United States,
and as the equivalent of a spoken language for the purposes of foreign language
study and course credit.
