Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter thirty-two or chapter thirty-two B of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, an elected official of the town of Adams who receives regular annual compensation which is less than five thousand dollars shall not be eligible for the benefits provided under said chapter thirty-two or chapter thirty-two B.
SECTION 2. The provisions of section one shall not impair the retirement or health insurance benefits of a person currently serving as an elected official in the town of Adams during his present term of office. In the event of re-election to said office, or election to any other office in said town of Adams with annual compensation of less than five thousand dollars said person shall not be entitled to benefits under chapter thirty-two or chapter thirty-two B of the General Laws.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
