AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF WAKEFIELD TO HOLD A CERTAIN SPECIAL ELECTION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
Notwithstanding the provisions of section 11 of
chapter 43B of the General
Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, requiring submission
at an annual town election, the town of Wakefield
is hereby authorized to conduct a special election at which any proposed
charter or charters recommended by the charter commission shall be submitted to
the voters of said town for their approval. Said special election shall be
held on the date of and in conjunction with the biennial state election in the
