AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE POLICE FORCE IN THE TOWN OF HOPEDALE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
Chapter 262 of the acts of 1984 is hereby amended by
striking out section 1, as appearing in
section 1 of chapter 156 of
the acts of 2000, and inserting
place thereof the following section:-
Section 1. The position of regular or permanent members of the police
including intermittent reserve officers and regular or permanent members of the
fire department of the town of Hopedale, shall be subject to
chapter 31 of the General Laws, including the tenure and just cause removal
provisions, but incumbent police sergeant Mark Giovanella and police
lieutenant James Gardner shall not be required to take any promotional
examination to obtain tenure rights in their present positions.
This act shall take effect upon its passage.
