AN ACT RELATIVE TO HANDICAP PARKING RESTRICTIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
Paragraph (b) of clause (23) of section 21 of chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2000 Official Edition,
is hereby amended by
striking out the last sentence
and inserting in place thereof the following
sentence:- The cross hatch area abutting a handicapped parking space shall,
purposes of this section, be considered a handicapped parking space.
Clause (24) of said section 21 of said chapter 40, as
is hereby amended by striking out the second and third
paragraphs and inserting in place thereof the following 2 paragraphs:-
An ordinance or by-law made under this section shall prohibit or regulate the
of unauthorized vehicles within parking spaces, including the cross hatch
areas, designated for use by disabled veterans or handicapped persons as
authorized by clause (23) or in such a manner as to obstruct a curb ramp
designed for use by a handicapped person as a means of egress to a street or
The penalty for a violation of an ordinance or by-law made under this section
