Ken Gordon enters his first elected office in 2013, but public service is no stranger to him. Mr. Gordon served his community on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Cultural Council, among other volunteer activities. He has been heavily involved with the local schools, volunteering to assist the math program at Davis School for two years., and formerly serving in the high school’s All-Night Graduation Party.

He has been a lawyer for 21 years, and the last dozen he has specialized in representing employees who suffer discrimination or wrongful termination at the workplace. In addition, he represents small business in disputes in court. He has managed his own practice in that time, having begun his career at established Boston law firms Parker, Coulter, Daley & White and Perkins, Smith & Cohen.

Before he was a lawyer, Mr. Gordon wrote sports for several local and national newspapers. After completing an internship with the Boston Globe, he headed for Florida where he covered the University of Miami ‘s championship football teams, among other assignments. It was there that he won national and state-wide recognition for his stories about misbehaving sports agents. Encouraged by friends at the university, he returned to Boston and attended law school, intending to begin a career as a sports agent. After representing several high profile hockey players in New England, including some members of the Boston Bruins as their attorney, he decided instead to focus on employment issues involving people with more traditional jobs. He has remained a plaintiff’s employment lawyer since that time.
