Section 3 of Chapter 62 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after paragraph B., subparagraph 20 the following subparagraph:-\r\n\t(21) An amount equal to the amount paid in electric, gas, propane gas, and oil utilities for the taxable year; provided, however, that the deduction allowed under this paragraph shall not exceed ten thousand dollars. Individuals and those filing married filing separately returns shall be able to deduct so long as total income does not exceed one hundred seventy-five thousand dollars. Those filing a joint return shall be able to deduct so long as total income does not exceed three hundred fifty thousand dollars.\r\n\tThis section shall take effect upon passage and the deduction shall remain in effect until December 31, 2029.”\r\n\r\n"}
