Soter","Type":1,"Details":"https://malegislature.gov/api/GeneralCourts/194/LegislativeMembers/MJS3","ResponseDate":"2026-04-15T14:15:54.563"},"Category":"Judiciary","Action":"Consolidated","RollCall":[],"Title":"Moving Bellingham Jurisdiction Back to Norfolk County","Branch":"House","RedraftNumber":null,"IsFurther":false,"GeneralCourtNumber":194,"Text":"Mr. Soter of Bellingham moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:\r\n\r\n\"SECTION XXX.Section 1 of Chapter 218 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the fourth paragraph under the caption “Norfolk” and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph: -\r\nThe district court of Western Norfolk, held at Wrentham; Bellingham, Franklin, Walpole, Foxborough, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, Wrentham and Plainville.\r\nSECTION XXX.Said Section 1 of said Chapter 218 is hereby further amended by striking out the seventh paragraph under the caption “Worcester” and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph: -\r\nThe third district court of Southern Worcester, held at Milford; Milford, Mendon, Upton, and Hopedale.\r\nSECTION XXX.For the purposes of all civil and criminal matters, the town of Bellingham shall be considered to be within the jurisdiction of Norfolk county.\"\r\n"}
