O'Day","Type":1,"Details":"https://malegislature.gov/api/GeneralCourts/194/LegislativeMembers/JJO1","ResponseDate":"2026-07-06T16:37:51.54"},"Category":null,"Action":"Consolidated","RollCall":[],"Title":"Minor League Baseball Players Wage Exemption","Branch":"House","RedraftNumber":null,"IsFurther":false,"GeneralCourtNumber":194,"Text":"Mr. O'Day of West Boylston moves to amend the bill by adding the following new section:\r\nSECTION XX:\r\nSection 2 of Chapter 151 of the Massachusetts General Laws as appearing in the 2022 official edition shall be amended by inserting in line 36 the following sentence:\r\n“Occupation shall also not include work performed by individuals who have entered into contracts to play baseball at the minor league level and who are compensated pursuant to the terms of a collective bargaining agreement that expressly provides for wages and working conditions.”\r\nAnd provider further that Section 15 of Chapter 151 of the Massachusetts General Laws as appearing in the 2022 official edition shall be amended by adding at the end thereof the following:\r\n“The requirement in this section to keep a true and accurate record of the hours worked each day and each week by each employee shall not apply to any individual who has entered into a contract to play baseball at the minor league level and who is compensated pursuant to the terms of a collective bargaining agreement that expressly provides for wages and working conditions.”\r\n"}
