Kennedy","Type":1,"Details":"https://malegislature.gov/api/GeneralCourts/194/LegislativeMembers/RKK0","ResponseDate":"2025-02-11T12:46:07.897"},"Category":null,"Action":"Rejected","RollCall":[],"Title":"Extensions 1","Branch":"Senate","RedraftNumber":null,"IsFurther":false,"GeneralCourtNumber":194,"Text":"Ms. Kennedy, Ms. Miranda, Mr. Eldridge and Ms. Jehlen move that the proposed new text be amended in section 4 by striking out subparagraph (4), in lines 79 to 88, and by inserting in place thereof the following subparagraph:- \r\n\"(4) Any family or pregnant woman with no other children may receive not more than 2 extensions for a period of up to 90 days each for a family with an individual who is: (i) qualified as a veteran under clause Forty-third of section 7 of chapter 4 who is not enrolled in services specifically tailored to veterans, including, but not limited to, those administered by the executive office of veterans services; (ii) at imminent risk of harm due to domestic violence; (iii) a family or pregnant woman with imminent placement in housing; (iv) pregnant or recently having given birth; (v) diagnosed with a disability or documented medical condition; (vi) a single parent, stepparent, legal guardian or caretaker caring for a disabled child or family member; (vii) satisfying any additional criteria the secretary of housing and livable communities deems necessary; provided, however, that families shall not be eligible for extensions if they have or decline feasible alternative housing. The secretary may provide additional extensions for a family or pregnant woman with no other children upon written certification of hardship by the secretary.\"\r\n"}
