Cyr and O'Connor move that the proposed new text be amended  in section 2A, in item 1596-2517, by inserting the following words:- “; provided further, that $500,000 shall be expended to the department of elementary and secondary education to assess current and future capital needs at Massachusetts educational collaboratives and approved special education schools; provided further, that said assessment shall include an analysis of facilities’ conditions and repair needs, including known mechanical and structural issues, critical safety issues and new facilities required to meet the student population, an analysis of current funding for such facility needs, and recommendations for long-term funding model; provided further, that said report shall be submitted to the clerks of the senate and house of representatives, the house and senate committees on ways and means, and the joint committee on education no later than June 30, 2025”; and by striking out the figure “$100,000” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- “$600,000”.\r\n"}
