Mark, Montigny and Eldridge move that the proposed new text be amended in section 2A by inserting after item 4000-0709 the following new item:- \r\n“4400-1031  For reimbursement to clients who have had their federal supplemental nutrition assistance program payments stolen through electronic benefit transfer card skimming, card cloning and other similar fraudulent methods, including organized identity theft schemes during beginning December 21, 2024, to the extent that federal funds will not cover the cost of reimbursement; provided, that claims for such reimbursement must be verified by the department of transitional assistance and must be reported to or identified by the department not later than July 31, 2026; and provided further that the department of transitional assistance shall prorate the amount of reimbursement or prioritize distribution of the funds to maximize the number of clients getting reimbursed until the appropriation is spent down…………………$3,600,000.”\r\n"}
