Decker","Type":1,"Details":"https://malegislature.gov/api/GeneralCourts/194/LegislativeMembers/MCD1","ResponseDate":"2026-06-16T13:40:37.243"},"Category":null,"Action":"Consolidated","RollCall":[],"Title":"PFAS Free Firefighter Gear","Branch":"House","RedraftNumber":null,"IsFurther":false,"GeneralCourtNumber":194,"Text":"Ms. Decker of Cambridge moves to amend the bill in section 2F by inserting after the item 1100-2524 the following item:-\r\n\"8324-0102 For a grant program to support the development, testing and purchase of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance-free firefighter turnout gear that meets or exceeds the standards established in section 245 of chapter 111 of the General Laws; provided, that funds may be used to support the development and testing of new materials and designs for turnout gear that reduce inherent firefighting dangers including, but not limited to, enhanced protection against primary and secondary exposure to particulates and byproducts of combustion and reduced maintenance that includes contamination resistance and greater ease of cleaning for any new technical fabrics or designs; provided further, that funds may be used for the disposal of turnout gear which contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances but is no longer in use; and provided further, that the department of fire services may reimburse cities and towns that have previously expended public funds on the purchase of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance-free firefighter gear that meets or exceeds the requirements of said section 245 of said chapter 111 ………………………………………………………………………….…..$20,000,000\"\r\n"}
