Correllus State Forest","Branch":"House","RedraftNumber":null,"IsFurther":false,"GeneralCourtNumber":194,"Text":"Mr. Moakley of Falmouth moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-\r\nSECTION XX. Chapter 21 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 3H the following section:-\r\nSection 3I.\r\nNotwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the commissioner of the department of conservation and recreation is hereby authorized to enter into a housing agreement with one or more department employees to reside, on a full- or part-time basis, in the existing caretaker house located in the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest.  Such employees shall have management responsibilities for the forest, including regular communication and coordination where necessary with the Towns of Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Chilmark, West Tisbury, Vineyard Haven, and Aquinnah, as well as the Martha’s Vineyard Commission and Martha’s Vineyard Airport Commission, regarding operations at the forest.  Said housing agreement shall not require rental payments from the employees to the department or the commonwealth, but it shall include such other terms and conditions as the commissioner deems customary and appropriate for housing agreements, such as those regarding the payment of utilities and routine maintenance. The commissioner also may enter into agreements with the office of law enforcement of the executive office of energy and environmental affairs for housing of employees of the office, and the office may enter into housing agreements with its employees for such housing, for purposes including provision of law enforcement at Manuel F. Correllus State Forest. Prior to entering such agreements, the commissioner shall make such improvements to the caretaker house as are necessary and appropriate to assure compliance with all applicable building and related codes for the residential occupancy of the house.\r\n"}
