Said chapter 38 is hereby further amended by adding the following section:-\r\nSection 17. (a) In all cases of sudden unexpected pediatric death, the office shall provide the caregivers of the deceased with information from the office of the child advocate, including a list of publicly available services for sudden unexpected pediatric death as well as information about how to receive support from the office of the child advocate in accordance with clause (i) of the first paragraph of section 2 of chapter 18C. The office of the chief medical examiner shall provide this list to the caregivers of the deceased not more than 3 days after receipt of the decedent.\r\n\t(b) The office, in coordination with the department of public health, shall provide, as close to the time of incident as practicable, information provided by the office of the child advocate, including a list of publicly available services and information about accessing support from the office of the child advocate pursuant to subsection (d) of section 5 of chapter 18C.”;\r\nIn section 36, by striking out, in line 720, the words “subsection (j)” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- subsection (k);\r\nIn section 41, by striking out, in lines 762 and 763, the words “subsection: (j)” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- subsection: (k);\r\nIn section 42, by striking out, in line 769, the words “section 23C” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- section 23D;\r\nIn said section 42, by striking out, in line 771, the word “has” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- shall have; In section 44, by striking out, in lines 1165 and 1183, the words “fact finding”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- fact-finding; and\r\nIn section 52, by striking out the words “Section 44” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- Sections 2, 37, 38, 43, 44 and 45.\r\n"}
