Tarr, Montigny and O'Connor move that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after section __ the following section:- \"SECTION__. The Center for Health Information Analysis shall conduct a study of the connections between private equity investment and the delivery of primary and specialty care in the commonwealth, which shall  include but not be limited to the current extent of private equity and venture capital investment in practices  and organizations employing primary care and specialist providers, any trends with regard to the nature, scope, and magnitude of such investment, and the current and projected degree to which such providers may become dependent on such investment to begin or maintain practices for the delivery of such care.  In conducting such study, the center shall consult with the executive office of health and human services, the department of public health, the Massachusetts Medical Society, and other organizations and providers it deems necessary.  The study shall also identify and analyze current and potential consequences and impacts of  such types of investment for health care delivery in the commonwealth, including but not limited to liabilities and benefits with regard to access to equipment and technology, sustainability, costs, patient access, outcomes, and quality of care, efficiency, and consolidation and diversification.\r\nThe center shall file a report containing the findings of said study, together with any recommendations relating to legislation, regulation, or policy, with the clerks of the House and Senate, the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing, and the House and Senate Committees on Ways and Means not later than 180 days following the passage of this act.\"\r\n"}
