Fernandes and Keenan, Ms. Edwards and Messrs. Collins and Eldridge move that the proposed new text be amended by inserting at the end thereof the following new section:-\r\n“SECTION X. Section 19 of Chapter 25A of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking paragraph (g) in its entirety, and inserting in place thereof the following new paragraphs:-\r\n(g) Eligibility for a rebate according to the provisions of this section shall be limited to households making no more than 200% of the area median household income as defined by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Qualifying consumers seeking to purchase a vehicle and avail themselves of this rebate shall affirm their eligibility at sale, under the pains and penalties of perjury.\r\n(h) The department may promulgate regulations to implement this section, and shall require submission of a simple form to satisfy the provision described in paragraph (g).\"\r\n"}
