Chapter 2 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-\r\nSection 66. The Massachusetts National Guard museum in the city of Salem, established pursuant to section 140 of chapter 33, shall be the official military museum of the commonwealth.”; and\r\nby inserting after section 38 the following section:-\r\n“SECTION 38A. Chapter 33 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-\r\nSection 140. There shall be a Massachusetts National Guard museum in the city of Salem, the birthplace of the national guard pursuant to section 60 of chapter 2.”; and\r\nby inserting after section 138 the following section:-\r\n“SECTION 138A. Chapter 156 of the acts of 2018 is hereby amended by adding the following section:-\r\nSection 3. Notwithstanding said sections 33 to 37, inclusive, of chapter 7C of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, following the conveyance authorized under section 2, the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance may, in consultation with the adjutant general, enter into a lease, on behalf of the military division, for the former Essex county superior courthouse and Essex county commissioners building, or portions thereof, for the purpose of maintaining the Massachusetts National Guard museum established pursuant to section 140 of chapter 33 of the General Laws, including, but not limited to, space for office needs and records storage. Such lease shall be for a term of not more than 40 years, including all renewals and extensions, and on such terms and conditions as the commissioner deems appropriate.”.\r\n"}
