Tarr, O'Connor, Eldridge, Montigny, Collins and Fattman move that the proposed new text be amended in section 107, by adding after proposed section 250 of chapter 111 of the General Laws, the following section:- \r\n\"Section 251. (a) As used in this section, the following words shall have the following meanings unless the context clearly requires otherwise:-\r\n“AED”, as defined in section 12V1/2 of chapter 112.\r\n“Facility”, a public stadium, sports center or gymnasium used for an athletic or sporting event.\r\n(b) Subject to appropriation, a facility shall have at least 1 AED on the premises during any athletic or sporting events taking place at the facility. The operator of such facility shall make a good faith effort to identify readily available volunteers to serve as AED providers who are present at such facility during athletic or sporting events.\r\n(c) The department of public health shall develop and implement a public information campaign to promote awareness of public access to AEDs and the importance of early access to defibrillation, including, but not limited to: (i) educating the general public on AEDs; (ii) establishing online resources with AED training opportunities in the commonwealth; and (iii) performing targeting outreach to populations who may lack access to information concerning AEDs in the commonwealth.\r\n(d) A placard shall be installed at every facility entryway with a map of the location of any AED at such facility.\r\n(e) The department of public health shall promulgate regulations to implement this section.\".\r\n"}
