Section 198B: Unauthorized sale at other than scheduled rate

Section 198B. Whoever shall engage in the business of purchasing, selling or re-selling railroad tickets, railroad ticket coupons or other evidences of a right to ride on a railroad, or parts of such tickets, coupons or other evidences, or shall purchase, sell, re-sell, barter, offer for sale or barter, or advertise for sale or barter, the whole or any part of any railroad ticket, railroad ticket coupon or other evidence of a right to ride on a railroad, or shall in any manner aid in so doing, or shall obtain for himself or another, or avail himself of, any means of transportation on a railroad, at any rate or rates other than or different from those prescribed in the schedule of rates filed and published by the corporation operating such railroad or in violation of the conditions attached to any reduced rate ticket, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than one month or by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars, or both. Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the provisions of section one hundred and ninety-eight A shall continue to govern as to the classes of tickets therein specified.
