State House Accessibility

The State House is committed to making its building and its many programs, services, and activities accessible to staff and visitors with disabilities. The following services and programs exemplify the services provided to people of all ages and abilities at the Massachusetts State House. To request services for your visit to the State House, select one of the services below.

• Braille Production Services

  Braille is available as an alternative format of printed materials upon prior notification. Request production services.

• Large Print

• Captioning of Formal Sessions

  All formal sessions of the Massachusettes House and Senate are captioned and can be viewed at malegislature.gov/events

• Assistive Listening Devices and Systems

  ALDS are available in all hearing rooms, Gardner Auditorium, House Viewing Gallery, and State House Tours

• Communications Access Real-time Translation (CART)

  CART Services are available in all hearing rooms, State House and Legislative offices, and public spaces. Request CART.

• Sign Language Interpreting Services

  Sign language interpreting services are available for all State House official events, tours, and meetings with prior notification. Request Sign Language Interpreting.
