Section 63: Compensation for taking bail

Section 63. No justice of any court, except a special justice of a district court, shall receive any fee or compensation for taking and approving bail in criminal cases, and no person authorized to admit to bail in criminal cases shall receive from any source in connection with the admitting to bail anything of value in excess of the statutory fees therefor. No person shall act as attorney in any case in which he has admitted a prisoner or witness to bail.
