AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF WILLIAMSBURG TO CONTINUE THE EMPLOYMENT OF FIREFIGHTER PAUL SANDERSON.

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding sections 1 and 5 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, Paul Sanderson, a firefighter with the fire department of the town of Williamsburg, may continue to serve in that position after November 30, 2014 until November 17, 2019, the date of his retirement or the date he is relieved of his duties, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that Paul Sanderson is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of the position. If requested by the board of selectmen in the town of Williamsburg, Paul Sanderson shall, at his own expense, be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine his capacity. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Paul Sanderson pursuant to said chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to November 17, 2014 and upon retirement, Paul Sanderson shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired on November 17, 2014.
     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect as of November 17, 2014.
