AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE CITY OF FALL RIVER AS THE RONALD COSTA BRIDGE

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain bridge in the city of Fall River, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Bridge number F-02-052(3XF) on Herman street spanning state highway route 79 in the city of Fall River shall be designated and known as the Ronald Costa bridge in honor of Ronald Costa and in recognition of his service to his community through his 38 years as a dedicated employee of the city of Fall River, including an unblemished record of service as the commissioner of public works, where he was appreciated by many of his colleagues, family and friends. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain a suitable marker on the bridge bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
