AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF LEYDEN TO CONTINUE THE EMPLOYMENT OF POLICE CHIEF DANIEL J. GALVIS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Daniel J. Galvis, chief of police of the town of Leyden, may continue to serve in that position until he reaches the age of 70 or until the date of his retirement or non-reappointment, whichever occurs first. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Daniel J. Galvis under chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to his reaching the age of 65 and upon retirement Daniel J. Galvis shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired at the age of 65.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of June 11, 2017.
