AN ACT EXEMPTING THE CITY OF NORTHAMPTON FROM APPOINTING WEIGHERS OF HAY, WEIGHERS OF COAL, AND FENCE VIEWERS
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 1 of chapter 49 of the General Laws, the mayor of the city of Northampton shall not be obligated to appoint fence viewers and said section 1 of said chapter 49 shall not be applicable to the city.
SECTION 2. The city of Northampton may rescind the vote to accept the provisions of section 236 of chapter 94 of the General Laws taken by the Northampton board of aldermen on December 11, 1888 by vote of the city council and approval of the mayor.
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding section 238 of chapter 94 of the General Laws, the mayor of the city of Northampton shall not be obligated to appoint weighers of coal and said section 238 of said chapter 94 shall not be applicable to the city.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
