The committee is scheduled to hear testimony starting at 1PM from three panels of witnesses, including state and local officials, leaders from technology companies, and cyber policy experts. Testimony is by invitation only. This hearing comes on the heels of several significant cyber attacks in Massachusetts and across the country. The hearing will focus on what should be done at the legislative level to strengthen cyber preparedness and resilience. 10/13/2021 1:00 PM On Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, the Joint Committee on Advanced Information Technology, the Internet and Cybersecurity is conducting a virtual public hearing on bills related to data use, data privacy, the Internet, and broadband access. The hearing is scheduled to last from 1:00PM to 5:00PM. For individuals who have signed up to testify, the committee will provide a link to join the public hearing. Individuals planning to testify must sign up no later than 5:00pm on Monday, October 11th. Oral testimony will be limited to 3 minutes, but longer statements will be accepted by written testimony until Friday, October 15th at 5:00pm.
