Senator John J. Cronin was elected to the Massachusetts Senate in 2020 and represents the communities of Ashby, Clinton, Fitchburg, Groton, Lancaster, Leominster, Lunenburg, Shirley, Townsend, and Westford.

Prior to election to the Massachusetts Senate, Cronin served as an Infantry Officer and is a combat veteran of the war in Afghanistan. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Captain in 2018 and worked as a veterans advocate at a legal services center in Boston. Cronin currently serves as the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets, the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, and the Gateway Cities Caucus. Senator Cronin also serves as the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Healthcare Financing and is a member of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means.
