Legislative District Sizes
The ideal district population is the total state population divided by the total number of districts. Below are tables that list the 2010 district sizes in Massachusetts used for the House, Senate, and Congress, and new ideal sizes based on the April 26, 2021 US Census Bureau release of State Resident Population data. State totals that include counts of overseas federal employees are only used to calculate Congressional apportionment. They are not included in any other census data products and are not used for redistricting.
