Hedlund for legislation to promote the sustainable economic development of the former Weymouth Naval Air Station for the benefit of the towns of Abington, Rockland, and Weymouth, the NAS South Weymouth Region and the Commonwealth. Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to forthwith enhance economic development and improve the general welfare of the area comprising the former Naval Air Station in South Weymouth and its environs, therefore, it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
