An Act relative to accessory dwelling units on smaller lots
By Mr. Kennedy, a petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 1002) of Edward J. Kennedy for legislation to require a municipal vote relative to tenant occupancy of accessory dwelling units on smaller lots. Housing.
An Act relative to accessory dwelling units on smaller lots would restrict the production of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) to single-family zoning districts with maximum lot sizes of 10,000 square feet. Additionally, ADUs would only be built on properties occupied by the property owner and must be occupied by owner or their extended family. These requirements may be waived with a vote of the municipality.
