Recreational games at senior centers

Defines card games and bingo as recreational games if the winning does no exceed $20 This bill would amend Chapter 271 Section 22B of the General Laws to add section 22C. Section 22C would sanction recreational card games taking place at municipal and town senior centers to allow the games to be directly allowed under the law. What is occurring today, senior centers are stopping their card game programs because they believe it to be illegal, even though there are stakes as low as a few cents behind each hand. This bill aims to ease those worries and formally recognize card games at senior centers.
