Bill Information

Presenter:
Patricia D. Jehlen
Status:
Referred to Senate Committee on Ways and Means

This bill would harmonize multiple definitions of “employee” as they exist in the General Laws so that the definition in the independent contractor wage and hour statute is in line with the definition in the workers’ compensation statute. It would ensure that employees would have clearer access to workers compensation and employers would better understand and follow the workers compensation requirements.
