This bill directs that newly printed school ID cards for public school students in grades 6-12 and students in public colleges and universities include the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline directs all callers and texters to trained staff who are available to provide free, confidential emotional support for those in crisis. Making suicide prevention resources more available and accessible will help ensure that every student is aware of the life-saving resources that are available to them at any time.
