Bill Information

Presenter:
Julian Cyr

This bill decriminalizes drug possession in Massachusetts by eliminating criminal penalties for possessing controlled substances and instead requiring that individuals found in possession receive a written list of resources. It also ensures that possession alone cannot serve as reasonable cause for other criminal investigations, except in cases of operating under the influence. Additionally, the bill repeals drug-related conspiracy charges and outdated laws related to marijuana possession.
