This bill is amending the charter of the city of Everett to read that no member of the city council is to hold any employment or appointed office within the public school district unless they held that position 120 days prior to nomination papers being pulled for the city council position. The bill would also accomplish the reverse, which is that no member of the school committee is to hold any other appointed city office or city employment unless they held that position 120 days prior to nomination papers being pulled for the school committee position. The bill also amends the charter to make changes to their special municipal employee policy to ensure people are not being paid for both positions.
