this bill would allow an incident report from any period of time that details a public worker from any retirement Group’s involvement in a horrific incident to be used as part of their application for Section 7 disability retirement. It doesn’t grant them anything, they still have to go through the normal process of board, medical and PERAC approval, but it does recognize the unique nature of PTSD, which has become more prevalent in society and particularly among public safety workers.
