Disability pension

Michael Palmer is a retired Massachusetts State Police Trooper who was shot in the line of duty on New Year’s Eve in 2020 in Springfield after responding to multiple shot spotter activations. As a result of his injuries, Mr. Palmer was forced to retire. Because he was only on the job for a short period of time before the incident, his retirement is based on entry level trooper pay which will remain unchanged.
