This Act would provide tax relief for permanently and totally disabled veterans. Currently, if a permanently and totally disabled veteran receive student loan forgiveness, that forgiveness is subject to state income tax. This act would align Massachusetts with the federal tax law that exempts this student loan forgiveness from personal income taxes.
