Emergency Preamble

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize the purchase and construction of a hospital in the town of Norwood by the University of Massachusetts Building Authority to be operated by UMass Memorial Health Care, Inc., therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health.

UMass Norwood Hospital

This legislation authorizes the University of Massachusetts Building Authority to purchase the site of Norwood Hospital for either fair market value or by eminent domain and to complete the structure of the hospital. This legislation also authorizes UMass Memorial Health Care Inc. to operate the structure under the name "UMass Memorial health- Norwood Hospital".
