Electric vehicles; battery recycling
Prohibits the disposal by landfill of electric vehicle batteries at the end of their lifecycle in favor of extending usability or recycling; establishes the hierarchy of responsibility for ensuring that electric vehicle batteries are properly recycled at the end of their usable life; establishes reporting requirements. Generally, the original provider of a battery (the automaker) is responsible for end-of-life management unless the battery is otherwise supplied to a secondary handler responsible for ensuring that the battery reaches a specialized recycler.
