· Adds a new Section 160H to GL Chapter 111, establishing the Safe Drinking Water at School Act, requiring all schools and child care centers to test each drinking water outlet for elevated lead levels;
· regulates collection processes and the process for remediating drinking water outlets that show elevated lead levels, including use of point-of-use filters and water fountain replacement;
· requires all schools and child care centers to submit plans of action for preventing water lead contamination, and subsequent progress reports;
· requires schools and child care centers to publish information on testing and results at each drinking water outlet, and to post “non-drinking” at outlets not intended for drinking.
