Salisbury Beach Preservation Trust Fund

This bill seeks to improve the management and preservation of the entirety of the Salisbury Beach dune and beach system, encompassing both public and private properties on the beach. The bill specifies that money from the Trust Fund must be used for activities like purchasing sand, restoring dunes, installing sand fencing, and supporting beach nourishment and coastal resilience projects, especially by potentially matching funds from other entities projects. Additionally, the bill raises a specific fee from $3 to $4, allowing the DCR to adjust it for inflation later. DCR is also required to produce an annual public report detailing fund activities, finances, and visitor numbers by December 31st of each year. Every two years, DCR must also update the beach's management plan to include strategies for long-term disaster prevention, recovery, and daily upkeep.
