College Admissions

This legislation prohibits a degree-granting institution of higher education, including a public college or university, from considering a donor or legacy preference when making admissions decisions. A violation of this restriction would result in a penalty of up to 2.8 percent of the net investment income of the institution plus revocation of the sales tax exemption under section 6 of chapter 64H. All fines shall be deposited into the Education and Transportation Trust Fund.
